We have a lot of work ahead of us, ending vacancy and luxury decontrol, building affordable housing, fully funding our schools as promised by the courts, protecting our parks and access to the waterfront.  We will designate our beautiful and historic buildings as landmarks and elect progressive candidates to office.  Together we will denounce the Iraqi War, fight for women’s rights, gay rights, and the rights of the disabled.  We will permanently end the death penalty and repeal the Rockefeller drug laws. We will protect our community from outsized development and from the proliferation of noisy disruptive bars and lounges. I can’t do it alone, but working together we can make a strong start.  I promise to do everything in my power to make our wonderful neighborhoods the best they can be.
